Hey folks,

since we are on DeviantArt for something about 2 Years now and we surprisingly have 127 Watchers we wanted to say Thank You for your likes, comments, watches and inspiration!
We worked hard on our recreation on different periods to make it as authentic as possible and we do see a change in quality.
Long story short - the other day we thought it might be interesting for you and for us to make some kind of FAQ or Q&A since we answered so many great and interesting questions in the last time.

So if you like and if you have any question according us, our work, our motivation/inspiration, research or Places-to-see feel free to ask, we would love to answer them!

While the year has a few more months to pass until it's over we have only one event left to visit.
Let's say the season 2014 is over and we met a lot of new people who do lots of wonderful crafting, good fighting and telling stories by the bonfire.

We want to thank all the subscribers who left so many positive comments and gave us feedback on our work. This really helps us to develop our work further.
At the end of the year we will take photos of our new clothes and accessory we made throughout the year. Something like a Before/After photoshoot.

Also we're planning to do a winter revival in Bärnau/Tachov or Düppel in February. But we have to sew a few warmer clothes to be prepared for this.

So, stay in touch and safe! Let us know if you have any suggestions for us.

Baernau Tachov by Lirhluthvik

Next weekend we are finally going to Baernau again. With new clothings, new jewellery, a new house to live and cook in, new work to do but same persons like last time.
It's the first time we're part of the "Slawentage" (Slavic Days) and we are very exicted about what people

we will meet, what they will sell and what inspiration we are going to get there.
Of course we'll do lots of pictures.

If you like you can visit us!

We had the pleasure to be on a real reenactment Event in North Germany, Schleswig Holstein.
It was the first of its kind, reenacting the battle of Suentana which was the last battle of the saxon warriors. Slavic warriors fought for Carolus Magnus, the Frankish King, whith the Franks against the Saxons and won.

The idea of reenacting the Battle evolved out of the plan to organize just a big fighting training in North Germany. One thing led to another and the organizers choose this battle because 798 ad it took place nearby (possibly). The hisorical texts are not quite clear.

We were there and in our opinion it was a successful event. Well organized and planed, save battles without injuries (except one), international clientel and the suggestions of the reeanctors were well and quickly implemented by the organizers (even from one day to another).
We will be there next year for sure!

Pictures will follow :)

New Season!

1 min read
Now, next weekend will be the start for our season! We will be living from friday to sunday in the history park of Bärnau/Tachov in Bavaria (near the border to Czechia) in one of their houses. For me, Ludwig, it will be something different, because the histoy park concentrates on slavic and high medieval reconstructions, so I can't be a barbarian Germanic ;) But for Rhoda it will be...well, the slavic equivalent to paradise.

We will be having lots of new stuff we made in the winter, and we hope it won't get too cold then. I don't know yet if I take my camera with me (you know, medieval and camera stuff), so I can't tell if we make some pictures.
I hope you all can start into spring in a way you like!

Looking forward to that,
Ludwig
